Loch Leven and Glencoe, Lochaber
The village of Glencoe is located on the southern banks of Loch Leven at the point where the River Coe flows north into the salt-water tidal loch. Glencoe has a long and brutal history with the famous Massacre of Glencoe taking place in the village back in 1692 where King William III and his armed forces slaughtered 38 members of the MacDonald Clan. Some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland can be found in the surrounding area, with many beautiful mountain passes and glens making for great places to stop and take photographs. Many of these locations are also well known for their box-office movie set filming locations.
