Loch Tummel and The Queen’s View
Loch Tummel is located in Perth and Kinloss, Scotland and is probably best known as the location of The Queen’s View. Located approximately 4.5 miles west of Pitlochry, Loch Tummel is a long and narrow body of water with a famous viewing platform located on its northern shore. The platform is elevated high up on the hill side overlooking the loch, close to the B8019 road and the Queen’s View Cafe and Gift Shop. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, having a large car park and rather quirky post box (you will see this for yourself in the images below!)Queen Victoria visited the site in 1866 and very much liked the view along the loch, a story which is still celebrated to this day drawing tourists and photographers from far and wide.
