The River Dee
The River Dee is a beautiful Scottish river which runs through the Cairngorms National Park and Royal Deeside, extending through southern Aberdeenshire and finally joining the North Sea. This area of Scotland represents some of the most beautiful landscapes with wild, rugged terrain and dense forestry which is home to an abundance of wildlife species. The river is often brown in colour due to the peaty soil through which it flows. The river itself is 140km in length from source to sink and falls approximately 1,220m across its length. If you are in the area on holiday and you want to see one of the most traditional views of Scotland then look no further! Braemar and the surrounding area is a wonderful place to visit.
